Vow Clothing, an L.A. based brand has once again released a gritty and very raw lookbook.  Influenced by their love of the alternative mixed with their punk vibes…Vow never disappoints me.  I had the great pleasure of being able to work with them on an editorial for fashiongrunge.com .  You can check the “Outsiders” here

For now enjoy that new new from Vow.

Martine Rose SS14

Martine takes her inspiration of “Individuality”  telling us a story where people draw their individual inspirations from everywhere.  From the curtains on the windows to the table cloths sprawling across the kitchen table.  She creates some intriguing looks for this upcoming SS season.

Oversized trousers seem to be a trend for the upcoming season as well as the more functional bomber jacket.  I’m completely in love with the modern undertone combined with the more structured piece.  Extremely please by this indepndant designer.   Here are a few of my favorite looks you can see the rest of the looks Here

“The Wild Ones” for Boys by Girls

While the summer is in full swing I find myself already grasping onto the memories of a Cali summer.  Floating around under palm trees and blue skys… feelings of never growing up spin all around me.  While digging through inspiration I came across an editorial for Boys by Girls from last year.  Capturing and inspiring me to remember the feelings of youth and the excitement of nostalgia…”Wild Ones” capture on a timeless story portrayed through a style and tone that captures more than just a friendship is truly inspiring.

“We wanted to bring in some Argentinian model talent we have been keeping an eye on, so we invited photographer Belen Asad to capture Lucho and Edu at Hey! Management. In this intimate story, she explores the boys’ friendship in a natural and relaxed setting in the Buenos Aires area. Through the series of black and white images, we can feel the Latin American influence hitting us.

We love Lucho and Edu’s playfulness and carefree attitude, as each image keeps us captured as we are introduced to their world. Hey, Buenos Aires boys, we can dig it.”

Inspiration:The reflecting part

The time of year where we like to let ourselves transcend from one chapter to another.  The completion of a yearly cycle and the burial and rememberance of a past tone.   We allow ourselves to reflect only to evolve.  The glow that started the day we were born and now has esteemed to be a brighter fire that seems to get bigger with each passing year.  It’s a good time to remember what got us here, the people who helped, the encouraging words, the mountains climbed, the obstacles tackled, love that we gained, and love that we lost.  I reflect on my own experiences to understand a future existance.

I gathered a bunch of my favorite things from 2012.  In the short time that I’ve been doing boyytalk, I’ve found a way to combine personal experiences into a delivery of fashion inspired expression.  Enjoy some of my favorites from the boyys of 2012!
